Shooting is not restricted to the rich ! SDDRA enables enthusiastic kids from economically weaker sections and NGOs to learn the sport as well. Here are a bunch of kids from ISHWAR NGO learning shooting from Lovleen Kaur, a SDDRA member and an international medallist shooter.

We are pleased to inform the overwhelming response received during South Delhi District Rifle Association’s “2nd SDDRA open shooting competition” held over two Saturdays – 26 May 2018 & 9th June 2018, at Sri Fort Shooting Range (DDA Sports Complex).
On Day 1, despite being a hot summer Saturday there was tremendous enthusiasm amongst the participants, which saw shooting enthusiasts across wide age groups – from as young as 9 years to a seasoned 62 years.
We received more than expected entries with a large number of walk in participants. Due to time constraint, only the first 118 participants could shoot on Day 1.
On popular request, the competition was extended for another day (9th June 2018) wherein Day 1’s spillover participants shot. In view of interest by our young shooters, we have also added a special category for under 12 boys and girls with both sitting and standing categories of matches, which events were held on Day 2.
The Prize Distribution ceremony was held at 5:30 PM on 9th June 2018. We were honoured to welcome Deputy Commissioner of Police Shri Asif Ali (IPS) who was kind enough to grace the event as the Chief Guest. He awarded medals to all participants to loud applause and cheers from the enthusiastic audience of proud parents, siblings and coaches. We are thankful to the range officials, classification officials, DSRA team and our SDDRA family who have worked tirelessly for this event.
Kudos to Anupam Kamal, President SDDRA for initiating this idea and successfully executing it.
