South Delhi District Rifle Association (in association with Delhi State Rifle Association) recently conducted the 2nd South Delhi District Shotgun Shooting Competition between 12th-14th November 2021 at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Ranges, Tughlakabad, New Delhi
The event was very well attended with some of the top Indian shooters choosing to participate in this competition. This gave our local talent the opportunity to compete against the best, as well as afforded us the opportunity to see some real world class shooting on display here in Delhi.
Amongst some of the big name shooters to participate, were World Cup medallist and two time Olympian Mairaj Ahmad Khan (Skeet) and World Cup medallist (Trap) Zorawar S Sandhu.
Most heartening, was the large turnout of women and junior women shooters, who shot excellent scores in this tournament, raising the hopes of Delhi’s medal tally in the forthcoming National Shooting Championships, which will commence later this month.
The Chief Guest Shri. KTS Tulsi ji, Senior Advocate and Member of Parliament and K Sultan Singh ji, General Secretary of the national shooting sports federation the NRAI, were on hand to witness the nail biting trap Shooting finals, which had everyone on tenterhooks!
This competition was only made possible by the dedication and hard work of all the officials and referees who did their utmost to ensure a smooth conduct of the tournament, our heartfelt thanks to all of them.
Since the entire Shooting sports calendar has been disrupted due to covid19, for more than one year, all shooters have been looking forward to opportunities to compete again and this event was a great way for Delhi shotgun shooters to get back into the groove of competition.

Shooting is not restricted to the rich ! SDDRA enables enthusiastic kids from economically weaker sections and NGOs to learn the sport as well. Here are a bunch of kids from ISHWAR NGO learning shooting from Lovleen Kaur, a SDDRA member and an international medallist shooter.
